DeadZone — Privacy Policy

Veni, vidi, vici.

Last updated: October 19, 2025
Version 1.2
No sale or cross‑app tracking

TL;DR

  • We check your battery level to see if it’s under 5% so the app can work.
  • We use Supabase for authentication, data storage, and messaging.
  • We use Google AdMob to serve ads; it may collect device identifiers for ad delivery and analytics.
  • We do not sell your data or collect any location information.
  • Old messages are automatically deleted every time you log in.
  • To delete your account or messages manually, email us at officialdeadzone.inc@gmail.com.

What we collect

Account

Display name, username, avatar, and email (used for login through Supabase Auth).

Battery signal

We check your device’s battery percentage to determine if it’s below 5%, which is required for DeadZone to function. We do not store exact battery levels except when diagnostics are enabled.

Device + app

Messages

Server‑stored (default)

Messages are stored on our servers and encrypted at rest so they can be delivered and synced. Limited staff may access content only to investigate abuse or fix issues, following strict access controls. You can delete your messages in the app; deleted items are removed from active systems promptly and from backups within ~30 days.

End‑to‑End encryption

Messages are encrypted on your device and can only be read by you and the recipient(s). We can’t see message content. We still process metadata (sender, recipient, time, size) to route messages and fight spam. Some features (e.g., cloud search or server‑side filters) may be unavailable in this mode.

Sharing

We don’t sell your data. We share only what’s needed with:

  • Service providers (cloud hosting, databases, notifications, crash/analytics). Contracts require security and confidentiality.
  • Safety & legal when required by law or to protect people and our service.

International transfers: if data leaves your region (e.g., EU → US), we use standard contractual safeguards. We keep transfers to a minimum.

Security

  • TLS in transit; encryption at rest
  • Strict access controls and audit logging
  • Report issues: security@deadzone.app

Breach notice: If a breach risks harm, we’ll notify users and regulators as required (in the EU, typically within 72 hours).

Retention

  • Battery diagnostics: ≤ 14 days (not kept at all unless you enable diagnostics)
  • Crash/analytics logs: 30–90 days
  • Messages: per your settings; deleted items leave backups within ~30 days
  • Account data: until you delete your account or we’re legally required to keep it

Your rights

You can access, export, correct, or delete your data. You can object to or limit certain uses. If we rely on consent, you can withdraw it. To make a request, use Settings → Privacy or email privacy@deadzone.app. We’ll respond within 30 days (or the timeframe your law requires).

Notice at collection: when you first open DeadZone under 5% battery, we show a one‑line notice that we read your battery level to enable the app, with a link to this page.

Children

DeadZone isn’t for children under 13. If you think a child used the app, contact us and we’ll delete the data.

Changes

If we materially change this policy, we’ll update the date above and let you know in‑app or by email.
